Ofsted visited us for a formal inspection on 3rd October 2018.
We were absolutely thrilled with the results of the inspection and were delighted to receive ‘Outstanding’ standards across the board which resulted in an overall grading of ‘Outstanding’. Ofsted recognised the great work that is taking place in our Nursery and a summary of their comments is available below:
Staff are highly effective in encouraging the involvement of parents, with an excellent level of shared learning with their children. For example, staff accompany families to meetings with external agencies that relate to children's development, and offer ongoing support.Children are active, highly motivated, inquisitive learners. Babies and young children are extremely well settled and communicate their needs and interests very confidently. Older children are sociable and highly articulate. They gain early reading, writing and mathematical skills that prepare them exceptionally well for their move to school.Managers are passionate about their role and this shines through all aspects of the provision. Staff are confident and highly attuned to children's needs. Children are exceptionally well engaged in a range of inviting and challenging opportunities to learn and develop. For example, they independently explore colour mixing with a range of paints and craft materials.Staff are outstanding in their support for children's speech and language skills. For example, their use of signing to support all children's communication is embedded throughout their practice.Leaders and managers have an excellent understanding of the early years foundation stage, and teaching is of a very high quality. They diligently monitor staff's practice and this high-quality reflection results in positive outcomes for all children.Children's behaviour is exemplary. Children are resilient and demonstrate exceptionally positive attitudes. They show high levels of curiosity, imagination and concentration. Staff are excellent role models.
